In this age, it is very difficult to be in mainstream and be 100% truthful simultaneously. Whenever we analyse people, organizations, media and even nations, which are in the main stream, we never expext them to be fully truthful. So, we need to analyse each one of these to identify who are more truthful and more reliable. I am a researcher in Physics, not a social analyst. So what I follow is to approach critically each and every story I encounter in the media of any kind. I must stress here that there are no news agencies which are absolutely immune from guess works and exaggerations. Many a times I have observed some of them use government and police supplied documents or that supplied by certain groups or nations which are against other persons, groups or nations in principle.
What I think is that it is wrong to depend on single sources for news. For instance, a journalist should not vomit what he have got from the police sources on any issues. There is a very insightful verse in the Quran about news that when you hear some news, check before you pass it on. I think this should be the prime motto of any journalist, and of course, of any human being who want to be truthful to himself.
